Marijuana Laws Regulating the Transportation, Importation, Sale (or Gift) and Possession of Medicinal Cannabis in San Diego County.
California Health & Safety Code 11360.
MISDEMEANOR: Transportation of less than 1oz of marijuana by anyone who is not a cannabis patient is a not an arrestable offense. The ticket issued is similar to that of a traffic violation, which requires a mandatory court appearance.
FELONY: To offer, attempt or transport, sell or give away marijuana to anyone who has not been recommended cannabis by a licensed physician is a felony. Bartering or exchanging for anything of value is considered "sale".

SoCal Relief urges all San Diego medical marijuana patients to always carry the original copy of their physician's recommendation letter.
California Health & Safety Code 11357.
It is illegal to knowingly have any usable amount of marijuana under your possession unless legally authorized for medicinal purposes. Without proper documentation, a citation is issued requiring a court appearance.
