Frequently Asked Questions
We aim to provide our patient members the best experience possible when ordering medicine online with us. Below are very common questions we are asked each day. Thank you for choosing The Strainbank.
What do I need in order to get medication?
Two things are required to get medical marijuana. A valid and current medical marijuana recommendation from a physician. Also, proof of residency in the state of California is required. Without those two things, we cannot dispense medication.
Do you have a storefront?
Soon and very soon. San Diego is a little bit different than the rest of California. When Mayor Bob Filner was in office, he told storefront dispensaries that they could operate (illegally) without fear of being shut down by city code enforcement. When Filner resigned at the end of September, the city began shutting down storefront dispensaries again.
Since October 2013, there have been over 25 storefronts shut down in San Diego and more are being shut down every day. Every storefront dispensary you see is operating illegally as of now. For the safety of our staff and our members, we are operating our delivery service with fast delivery, usually within 1 hour.
Do you have a minimum order?
We like to meet new people. No order is too small, we strive to help every member as much as we can. After all, we're a collective together so let's help each other out. Typically, it is nice to have a $50 minimum donation because gas ain't cheap. If you can't make the minimum, that's ok, we'll do our best to accommodate.
What are common way to medicate?
There are many different ways to medicate. Some people prefer to smoke while others prefer edibles. Lots of other great methods exist as well. We're happy to show you a few of our favorites. Tinctures & balms are another great way to relieve pain & inflammation through age-old natural methods that are high in CBD levels.
Alternative methods of medicating have many benefits that may not be found in traditional methods. Every person is different & most will have different preferences. It's always recommended to try a small amount first & see how you feel one hour later before continuing.
What is THC?
THC is the ingredient in medical cannabis that gives the euphoric feeling that is sometimes experienced while using various methods of medicating. It is typically released by way of heat during smoking or cooking the cannabis to a specified temperature. Other methods of ingesting cannabis without heating, allow patients to medicate without the euphoric effects of THC. There are many studies on THC’s ability to reduce the painful pressure of glaucoma. Clinical studies on THC’s analgesic, pain-relieving properties in patients with cancer or severe pain can be found here.
What is CBD?
CBD is a non-psychoactive component of marijuana that possesses a wide range of therapeutic benefits. When present in high quantities, CBD enhances THC’s positive effects. It’s clear both THC & CBD coexist in the plant for a reason, often acting synergistically to create enhanced effects. There are many studies online that discuss CBD’s ability to reverse alcohol-induced brain damage, CBD as an effective treatment for severe social anxiety, and CBD as a potent anti-psychotic medicine.
